Geartide approaches each service the same way regardless of the tier — with an initial assessment, a written note, and your agreement before any work begins. The three service levels exist because different watches need different kinds of attention. A quartz daily-wear is not the same situation as a forty-year-old dress watch with an unknown service history.
What doesn't change is the standard: careful handling, calibrated equipment, plain-language communication, and a timing result provided at the end of every service. The aim is for your watch to leave the workshop running steadily and for you to have a clear record of what was done.

Everyday Service

Pre-work written assessment
Every service begins with a written condition note. No exceptions. You see what's proposed before a decision is needed.
Regulated timing check
All mechanical movements are timed on a regulated machine before handback. The result is noted in your service record.
Secure handling at all stages
Watches are stored in individual padded trays throughout. The workshop is alarmed outside hours. Collection is by prior arrangement only.
Calibrated pressure testing
Pressure tests are carried out with calibrated equipment on models suited to water resistance checks. Results are disclosed honestly.
Client communication throughout
If anything changes during a service, you're contacted directly before work continues. No surprises at collection.
Parts transparency
Replacement components are disclosed and agreed before fitting. Non-original parts are never used without explicit knowledge and consent.
